Florida

I had a wonderful trip down to Florida to see my mom and Jim. The weather was perfect. Shorts, t-shirt and flip flops the whole time. Mom and I did some major after x-mas shopping one day. We got some great deals! We also made our first trip to Busch Gardens Tampa. We all agreed it was much nicer and bigger than we thought it would be. The lines for the roller coasters were too long, but we were able to enjoy the rest of the park, including the wild animals. I can't wait to visit Florida again. I will have to wait now until after summer. No one in their right might would travel down there in the summer months if they don't have too!

Fireworks are legal in Florida. We bought a pack at the local Walmart...very classy!

We shot some off every hour leading up to New Years, then the rest at midnight.

I think the elephants were my favorite. Their eyes make them look like old men.

Flamingos are such odd animals. We stood watching them for awhile.....so weird, but beautiful.

Where is all my money?

I've figured out why I'm broke! It doesn't matter, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love living in LA, and being able to see so many shows. Out of all the shows this year, I would have to say seeing Garth Brooks for the first time was amazing. The Sounds at the Palladium came in at a close second!

I'm sure 2009 will even be better, because No Doubt is going on tour......I need to start saving!

Besides the concerts this year I went to my first Laker game, and went to see Wicked twice!

My first apple pie,

I made my first apple pie this week. I have to admit I bought a frozen crust, but the rest was all me. Here are a couple of pictures of the process.

I'm happy to say that the pie turned out very well. I was surprised.

My two new favorites....

I wanted to let you all know of two shows that i've recently become obsessed with, Friday Night Lights and Mad Men. When I say obsessed I mean it. I spent this past weekend watching the first 13 episodes of Mad Men back to back. If you hurry you can catch up before the new seasons start. Friday Night Lights will be starting their third season, and Mad Men just started their second season.
